Bad Bar Customers: Why You Should Never Step Over Your Bartender

The Human Speed Bump

The bar I work at has a large patio with many TVs. During big games or events, it is often standing-room-only outside. On one such day, a group asked me to turn on one of the propane heaters, which happened to be located near the main entrance to the patio from the parking lot.

As I was on my knees changing the propane tank, a new group of customers walked in from the parking lot. Instead of trying to go around me or waiting for me to finish changing the propane, the first few people stepped OVER me. One woman in the group, basically straddling me at this point, looks down and asks, "Where are we supposed to sit?"

No "Excuse me." No "I'm sorry." No acknowledgement of another human being.
